Otter Brewery, Luppitt, Nr Honiton |
Otter Brewery was established in October 1990, by David and Mary Ann McCaig. The brewery is located in Blackdown Hills, just south of
Taunton. David had previously brewed at Whitbreads for 17 years and Mary Ann’s family have been brewers for a number of generations. Most recently her father was Managing Director for Whitbreads in the South West, South Wales and Pennine regions.
The original objective was run a small micro-brewery, supplying a few local real ale houses with a top quality cask conditioned beer. Demand led to growth and now, nearly 15 years later, the new 80 barrel brewing is producing some of the most popular music in the West Country.
The beers that Combe House regularly use are Otter Bright and Beautiful Daze. |
Luscombe Organic Drinks, South Devon |
Luscombe Organic Drinks was founded by the Managing Director’s father in 1975 when he used to make and sell cider, and later apple juice from the farm gate. Now, three decades on, Luscombe has become a household name to many and our dedicated team are now responsible for bottling approximately 7000 bottles per day producing a range of 14 drinks and also our Organic cider. We pay neurotic attention to every detail and do not use any additives, preservatives, artificial colourings or any other “addition” and use only the very best quality ingredients that we can possibly source. Every batch is carefully prepared by the team and then tasted by our Managing Director. We are very proud of our Company ethos – we do not and will not supply supermarket chains and try to hand-pick our quality stockists nationwide and now more recently, in Europe also. Our drinks have won too many awards to mention they must be tried to be believed!. |
